I stood with him with my sign in attempts to elevate his voice and demand respect.

Photo By: Russel Albert Daniels HJR1 Exempting Utah from the Antiquities Act “This is simple for me as an indigenous woman as a survivor of systematic genocide - someone who dedicates my daily life preserving my history and the sovereignty of my people," she said. "This exemption of the Antiquities Act is quite clear to me and it’s a further suppression of the indigenous voice. Unfortunately this is nothing new to us and here we are again as First Nations as a tribal coalition who have been excluded in the conversation and decision making process. I’ve seen it happen over and over again.”

I dress in what makes me feel most beautiful as an Indigenous Woman and I wanted to represent myself that way. As an artist and a low radar sign-painter my work became part of the representation regarding this battle in a 500+ year war we are fighting as Indigenous People. I wore my Shimasani's (Great Grandmother's) Scarf, jewelry made by my Shi'ma ( Sandra Lee ), and my sash around my waist to stand PROUD and STRONG as an Indigenous woman. What I wear goes beyond fashion, it is who we are as a people. Thank you @ Tori Duhaime for the Photograph that made it to Vogue.

Photo By: Jonathan Canlas PANDOS's Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women Committee gathered on Main Street in Park City, Sunday January 20th around 12pm during the Sundance Film Festival, to raise awareness for this brand new campaign.  We handed out Red Doll pins and postcards to inform the public about this important issue.  The Committee seeks to monitor, research, and organize on the issue of Missing and Murdered Indigenous women in the Intermountain West and South West regions. We seek to build relationships with tribal governments, municipal governments, and state and federal officials to better understand the barriers that prevent us from being able to address the atrocities perpetrated against our indigenous women. We seek to address the conditions that contribute to violence against women, and the deafening silence that follows. We seek to be the voice for people who can no longer speak for themselves.
